What is included in the safari price?

All packages include: park fees for all parks visited, accommodation (as specified — huts, camping, or tented camps), all meals on the mountain and safari, certified mountain and safari guides, all ground transfers within Tanzania, pre-trip briefing, and emergency evacuation support. Everything except international flights, Tanzania visa, travel insurance, tips, personal gear, and optional activities like balloon safari.

Are there any hidden costs?

No hidden costs. Every item not included is listed clearly on the pricing page. The most common unexpected cost first-timers forget: tips for the mountain crew ($260–$416 per climber depending on trip length) and personal gear if you need to buy hiking boots, sleeping bag, and down jacket from scratch ($520–$832 if buying new). Both are disclosed in writing before you book.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer (USD, EUR, GBP), credit card (Visa/Mastercard — 2.9% processing fee), and PayPal. A 30% deposit secures your booking; the balance is due 45 days before departure. We do not require full payment upfront.

Is tipping included?

Tips are not included and are customary. For the mountain crew, plan $260–$416 per climber depending on trip length. Safari guide tips are separate ($21–$42 per day). Your lead guide will facilitate fair distribution among the entire crew. We are transparent about this because it is a significant portion of crew income — Tanzanian guides and porters depend on tips to earn a living wage.

What is the difference between budget and premium pricing?

The difference is primarily crew welfare, accommodation quality, and group size. Budget operators run 15–20 person climbs with porters carrying 25kg+ and basic camping. Premium operators use smaller groups, certified porter welfare practices, better tents, and premium camps. The $1,000–$2,000 per-person difference between operators on the same itinerary typically goes to your guides and porters, not just better tents.

Can I customise a package?

Yes — every itinerary is customised to your dates, group size, and preferences. Tell us your target dates and we will confirm availability and send a custom itinerary. We do not use rigid packages — all our trips are planned around your schedule. Message us on WhatsApp or email us.

What is the group size?

Accepted Answer

Maximum 10 climbers on any Kilimanjaro climb. Safari groups are private (your party only) — we do not mix groups. For solo travellers, we can pair you with compatible solo climbers on shared departures where available.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Accepted Answer

We have a transparent cancellation policy: 60+ days before departure, full deposit refund minus $52 admin fee. 30–59 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: no refund (the crew and accommodation are already committed). We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation — it costs $52–$104 and protects your investment.
