Budget camping vs luxury tented camps vs premium lodges. The accommodation tier is the single biggest variable in safari pricing.
Climb route

Why are combo safaris cheaper than booking separately?
We coordinate the logistics for both legs, so we eliminate the duplication of costs that two separate operators each charge. When you book climb and safari separately, each operator charges for their own airport transfers, their own logistics coordination, and their own profit margin. When we handle both, those costs merge into a single efficient operation. We pass the efficiency saving onto combo clients — typically 15–25% on the safari portion.
Is the Kilimanjaro climb price the same as booking through the Kili-only site?
Yes. Safari Kilimanjaro and Mount Kilimanjaro Climb are sister brands under the same family ownership. The climb pricing is identical — we don't add a premium for the combo. What changes is that the safari logistics are handled by the same team, same vehicles, same guides — with no handoff between operators.
What if I need to cancel one leg of the trip?
Each leg has its own cancellation terms based on how far in advance you cancel. The climb cancellation policy (30+ days = 80% refund, 15–29 days = 50% refund) and safari cancellation policy are separate but coordinated. If you summit Kili but cannot continue the safari due to injury, we will do everything possible to reschedule rather than cancel. Our WhatsApp line is active 24/7 during your trip.
Can I do the safari first and the climb second?
Technically yes, but we strongly recommend climbing first. Post-climb fatigue and mild altitude effects (headache, reduced energy) are common for 24–48 hours after descending. Doing safari while still recovering is not ideal — the game drives are less energetic and you may feel drowsy from altitude medication. Climbing first and safari second means you arrive at the Serengeti fully recovered, energised, and ready for long game drives.
What is the single supplement for solo travellers?
Solo travellers pay a single supplement of $31–$52 per night for accommodation where a single room is used. On the mountain, there is no single supplement — you share a tent or pay for a private tent upgrade ($16/night). For safari, a private vehicle sole-use supplement applies if you do not want to join an existing group. We quote all options transparently before you commit.
Do prices change based on season?
The climb pricing is the same year-round. Safari pricing varies by season: July–September (Great Migration peak) carries a 20–25% premium; April–May (green season) offers 15–20% discounts; January–February and June are at standard rates. The best value combination is climbing in February–March (dryer, fewer crowds on the mountain) and safari in April–May (green season pricing, newborn wildlife, exceptional photography).
