Combo Itineraries

Every Kilimanjaro + Safari Combo We Run

From the 3-day rapid summit + crater to the 21-day Ultimate Tanzania — full per-person pricing, climb and safari breakdown, and which one fits your dates.

Eight Combo Itineraries. One Operator. No Handoffs.

A Kilimanjaro + safari combo is one trip, one operator, one Arusha-based team from summit to savanna. The itineraries below are the eight combos we run most often — from a 3-day rapid summit plus a single crater safari, to the 21-day Ultimate Tanzania that covers five parks and the migration window.

Pricing is per person based on two people sharing. The climb, safari, transfers, briefings, and park fees are all included. Use this page to compare by length and price, then click through to the full day-by-day for whichever fits.

How to Choose the Right Length

3–5 days

Tight schedule

The 3-day rapid plus a single crater day, or the 5-day climb + Zanzibar beach. These work if you have limited annual leave and summit is the primary goal — safari is a bonus, not the focus.

7–10 days

Standard combo

The 7-day Machame + Crater and 10-day Machame + Ngorongoro & Tarangire cover roughly 80% of the combos we book. Proper acclimatisation, two parks, no recovery-day compromise.

14–21 days

Full Tanzania arc

The 14-day Lemosho + premium safari and 21-day Ultimate Tanzania add a slow climb, remote parks, and the migration window. Best when the trip is the primary annual travel, not a side trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which combo itinerary is the most popular?+
The 10-day Machame + Ngorongoro & Tarangire is our most-booked combo. It pairs a 7-day Machame climb (the standard scenic route) with a 3-day safari covering Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. The price from $3,952 per person covers both halves under one operator — no handoff between companies, no duplicate transfer fees.
What is the shortest combo itinerary you offer?+
The shortest combo is the 3-day Rapid Summit + Ngorongoro, from $1,248 per person. It uses the 3-day Marangu route to summit Kilimanjaro, then adds a single-day Ngorongoro Crater safari before flying home. This is a high-intensity itinerary — we recommend it for travellers with prior multi-day hiking experience, not first-timers.
How long should my combo be if it is my first time on Kilimanjaro?+
For first-time climbers we recommend either the 7-day Machame + Crater or the 10-day Machame + Ngorongoro & Tarangire. The 7-day gives the climb proper time without compression; the 10-day adds two more safari days for a balanced Tanzania experience. Both keep the climb at 6–7 days, which gives a realistic acclimatisation profile and a strong summit success rate.
Do all combo itineraries include the climb and safari with the same operator?+
Yes. Every combo itinerary on this page is operated by Safari Kilimanjaro end-to-end — the same Arusha-based team handles your climb briefing, mountain guiding, descent transfer, and safari driver. There is no handoff to a second company, which removes the duplicate transfer fees, double briefing costs, and logistics coordination that occur when the climb and safari are booked separately.
Can I add Zanzibar or a beach recovery to any of these itineraries?+
Yes. Every combo can be extended with a 3 to 7-day Zanzibar beach add-on at the end. The 5-day Climb + Zanzibar Beach itinerary is the most common beach-extended package (from $1,456 per person). For longer combos, we typically add 3–4 beach days after the safari finishes — talk to us about your dates and we will build the extension into the same operator booking.
What is the best time of year to book a combo?+
The two best windows are January–March and June–October. January–March is warm and dry on Kilimanjaro, with the calving season in the southern Serengeti. June–October is the dry season and the Great Migration river crossings in the northern Serengeti. November and April–May are the long and short rains respectively — climbs are still possible but weather windows are tighter.
