What Guests Say

Real reviews from real travellers

4.8/5 from 154 verified TripAdvisor reviews Β· Safari Kilimanjaro

β€œBooked both our Kilimanjaro climb and a 3-day safari through Safari Kilimanjaro. Seamless from start to finish. The climb team and safari team communicated perfectly β€” no handoffs, no confusion, just one operator who handled everything.”

Verified TripAdvisor Reviewer

Toronto, Canada Β· 7-Day Kili + Safari

β€œWe did the 7-day Kili climb and added a safari at the end. The combined package was better value than booking separately, and having one contact point made everything easier. Bobby Tours has this logistics thing down to a science.”

Verified TripAdvisor Reviewer

Amsterdam, Netherlands Β· 7-Day Kili + Safari

β€œSafari Kilimanjaro added the Serengeti portion after our summit. Best decision of the trip β€” watching the migration crossing on the way down from Kili was something we will talk about for the rest of our lives.”

Travel Insurance

Two Policies, Three Risks

One Kilimanjaro + safari trip carries three distinct risks β€” the government has added a mandatory policy for two of them, and your climb still needs supplementary coverage for the third.

Mandatory β€” New from 2026-10-01

Tanzania Inbound Travel Insurance

Issued by the Tanzania Insurance Corporation. Every visitor to Tanzania (non-residents) must hold this policy on entry from 2026-10-01. It covers general medical emergencies and standard travel risks anywhere in mainland Tanzania β€” including safari areas. It does not cover high-altitude trekking on Kilimanjaro.

Apply: inbound.nicinsurance.co.tz

Operator-brief note β€” pricing for the mandatory inbound policy is not yet published by TIC; this section does not invent a cost figure. Add a line-item figure here when Don confirms.

Supplementary β€” Required by Bobby Tours

High-Altitude Trekking + Helicopter Evacuation

The mandatory inbound policy stops well short of Uhuru Peak. You still need supplementary coverage that explicitly extends to 5,895m, includes helicopter evacuation (a 5,895m retrieval costs $10,000–$30,000 without insurance), covers trip cancellation, and protects gear.

Budget: $50–$120 for a 10–14 day policy from Battleface, World Nomads, or SafetyWing.

Operator-brief note β€” supplement pricing ranges are published by the listed providers and held in CLAUDE.md voice spec.

Flag for Don: The mandatory Tanzania Inbound Travel Insurance is a NEW line item in every combo budget from 2026-10-01. The operator brief lists no published cost figure β€” we have left the price blank on this page rather than invent one. Confirm with TIC before quoting packages post-2026-10-01.
